PRACTICAL GUIDE

Record the right currency, without rewriting history

Operating currency is the currency used for equipment rate references, not necessarily your subscription billing currency.

01Choose a currency
02Record a rate
03Keep the context
04Check historic records

Set the business default

Choose from 30 supported operating currencies. New item rates use the selected default so staff do not have to infer whether a number means pounds, dollars or euros.

Keep earlier rates meaningful

Changing the default does not exchange or relabel historic equipment and booking prices. Those records retain their recorded currency. Check both amount and currency when discussing a rate.

Use rates as a reference

Optional daily rates help the operator answer a customer quickly. They are not invoices, tax calculations, payment requests or a guarantee of the final hire charge.

Subscriptions are separate

Published subscription prices are currently in GBP. Stripe checkout, overseas tax handling and currency conversion are not active in the evaluation. Do not assume selecting a local equipment currency changes the subscription price.
